Your instrument

The choice is yours. New parts, old parts or a mix of the two. My design, your design or a console you'd like emulating. I won't charge for design work, so long as I get to build it. Most things are possible now I have CNC and 3d-print capabilities.

Pricing

Now that inflation has calmed down, it currently costs around £1300 in kiln-dried Oak to make an open-framed console with bench. A set of new good-value Fatar keyboards with import tax costs around £1000. Clients generally take advantage of my stock of reconditioned pedalboards. I can make new ones, but they use a great deal of additional wood. Toe pistons are £59 each, touchscreens are £440 per pair. Energy costs, components and consumables add another £500, but the bulk of the cost is labour at around £3000. If you already have an old console and just want it converted for Hauptwerk it will cost you much less.

By all means do the maths. You'll find I beat all competition for value, service and attention to detail. And if you've never tried Hauptwerk, you're in for a treat. It outperforms all electronic organs for sound quality and flexibility. Come try it out for yourself. No sales pitch. It will speak for itself.

A recent commission

To MIDIfy and combine a two manual Compton organ with a three manual stack the client had purchased on eBay. Full height mortise and tenon side panels were remanufactured to table height. The table top was extended to accommodate the full depth of the new stack. Two additional expression pedals were fabricated to match the original, with an adjustable music desk and general piston rail formed out of off-cuts. It all had to fit under the eaves of an attic room on a very tight budget, but the wood-core keyboards are a delight to play on and the pedalboard is magnificent. The console is modular and can be dismantled for relocation.
